 KABUL: Afghan  officials say a coalition air strike in eastern Afghanistan has killed eight  Afghan soldiers and wounded four others.Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi says the soldiers were hit early Wednesday in Sayed Kheil area of Khost province. Azimi is a spokesman for the Defense Ministry.
Arsallah Jamal, the governor of Khost province, says the troops were inside a checkpoint when the air strike hit them. The NATO-led force could not confirm the strike, but says it is checking the report.
